Cook Political Report shifts Minnesota Senate race toward GOP
Polling shows a close race, with Flanagan posting a 3.2% average lead, according to RealClearPolitics.
The Cook Political Report has shifted its rating of the Minnesota Senate race toward the Republican candidate, marking one of the only instances of a major Senate race seemingly moving toward the GOP this cycle.
Cook moved the contest from "likely" to "lean" Democratic, as polls show Republican nominee Michelle Tafoya closing in on Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, D-Minn.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., is running for governor to replace Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn.
Polling shows a close race, with Flanagan posting a 3.2% average lead, according to RealClearPolitics. The state has been rocked this year by revelations of widespread public funds fraud and is still reeling from an immigration enforcement effort in Minneapolis earlier this year.
