The National Republican Senatorial Committee is in the process of spending $46.5 million in eight states in pursuit of maintaining its majority in the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections. 

They are taking advantage of the recent Supreme Court ruling that struck down limits on coordinated party spending, according to Axios. Republican committees have the financial edge of their Democratic counterparts at this point and are more aggressively taking advantage of the new rules, according to the outlet. 

The point is that the NRSC estimates that the new rules allow the advertising dollars to stretch three to 10 times further than before the Supreme Court’s ruling, because candidates and coordinated party campaigns can generally benefit from cheaper ad rates than super PACs. 

The NRSC had $17 million more in cash on hand at the end of July than the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, according to Axios. 

The two largest investments planned by the NRSC are $11.2 million to support Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio and $8.8 million on behalf of Rep. Ashley Hinson. The next top states are New Hampshire and Michigan, followed by Alaska, Georgia, Maine and North Carolina.
