Judge dismisses complaint against ex-FBI officials over Hunter Biden testimony
Hunter Biden's laptop was the subject of bombshell reporting from the New York Post prior to the 2020 presidential election.
A federal judge on Monday dismissed a criminal complaint against two former FBI officials whom the government accused of misleading Congress about their knowledge of the Hunter Biden laptop investigation.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui issued the decision after previously expressing skepticism of the case in an earlier hearing, according to the Associated Press.
The two former officials named in the complaint stood accused of offering misleading testimony to Congress about their involvement in efforts to investigate the laptop.
The abandoned laptop had information about Biden's questionable overseas business dealings while his father, Joe Biden, was vice president, and its existence became public just weeks before Election Day for the 2020 presidential election in which Joe Biden was the Democratic nominee.
The laptop and its content became a big investigative topic for congressional Republicans during Biden's time in the White House, particularly whether Biden was any financial involvement in his son's dealings and whether the Biden White House worked with big tech to suppress stories on the matter.
