Border Patrol arrests previously deported sex offender present in U.S. illegally
San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested 17 sex offenders just since October 1.
Border Patrol agents arrested a sex offender on Saturday who had previously been removed from the U.S.
Record checks showed that the individual "had been convicted in 2009 for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14," a press release noted. "He was sentenced to eight years in prison. The man was subsequently removed to Mexico in 2016."
