Actor and director Timothy Busfield was indicted on child sex abuse charges, according to the Bernalillo County district attorney on Friday.

Busfield was indicted on four charges of criminal sexual contact of a child, KRQE reported.

Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman posted on Facebook Friday morning, saying, “As with all criminal proceedings, Mr. Busfield is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. This case will proceed through the judicial process and is expected to move forward to trial.”

Busfield allegedly touched two boys inappropriately on the set of “The Cleaning Lady” TV series while filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

An arrest warrant was issued for Busfield in early January, and he later turned himself in. Before going to the police, Busfield spoke out in a recorded video, calling the allegations a lie.

“I’m going to confront these lies. They’re horrible. They’re all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys, and I’m going to fight it,” Busfield said in the video.

Judge David Murphy late last month ordered Busfield to be released from jail while awaiting his trial.
