'Crime, chaos, destruction, and death': Trump blasts Harris on law and order
"I will deliver Law Order, Safety and peace, and I will protect those who protect us," he added.
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned that Vice President Kamala Harris would deliver a considerable uptick in crime should she win the presidency and vowed to himself lower rates, in part by securing the southern border.
Trump made the remarks at an event in Howell, Mich., amid the Democratic National Convention.
"Kamala Harris will deliver crime, chaos, destruction and death if she's allowed to be the President of the United States," he said. "You'll see levels of crime that you've never seen before."
"I will deliver Law Order, Safety and peace, and I will protect those who protect us," he added.
"So we're going to make a record investment in hiring, retention and training of police officers," Trump declared. "We're losing tremendous numbers of police officers. These are men and women that want to be police officers, and they just, they're just leaving. We're going to get you reinforcements."
"We'll bust up and dismantle the gangs, savage criminal networks and bloodthirsty cartels, and we will stop the fentanyl," he continued. "Kamala Harris has allowed hordes of illegal alien criminals to literally stampede into our country. We're going to end that on day one. We're going to close our border. We're going to get all of the bad ones out, and we're going to get them out fast."
Trump's address came as part of Republican counterprogramming to the DNC, with Tuesday's events centering on crime and safety. GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance and Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., delivered remarks on the same subject at separate events earlier in the day.
