A Los Angeles judge on Thursday sentenced disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein to 16 additional years in prison after a jury convicted him of raping and assaulting an Italian actor and model in 2016.

Weinstein, 70, still has more than 20 years to serve for a similar conviction he received in New York in 2020.

"I maintain that I’m innocent. I never raped or sexually assaulted Jane Doe 1," Weinstein told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lisa B. Lench, The Associated Press reported.

The woman whom Weinstein was convicted of assaulting sobbed as he talked.

"Before that night I was a very happy and confident woman," the woman said. "I valued myself and the relationship I had with God. I was excited about my future. Everything changed after the defendant brutally assaulted me. There is no prison sentence long enough to undo the damage."
