Hunter Biden's initial court appearance set for July 26
The judge still has to sign off on Biden's plea deal.
Hunter Biden is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court on July 26 in connection to the plea deal he agreed to earlier this week.
U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika, a Trump appointee for the District of Delaware, ordered the hearing Wednesday hours after she received the case, ABC News reported.
First son Hunter Biden reached a deal on Tuesday to avoid prison time by pleading guilty to two tax charges and admitting to a firearms charge that may be dismissed. However, Noreika still has to sign off on the deal.
The charges come after a five-year investigation into Hunter Biden, but it could create political problems for his father, President Joe Biden, as he runs for reelection in 2024.
