Lauren Boebert's son Tyler accused of making sex tape with alleged accomplice, per affidavit
Gas station surveillance footage shows Tyler Boebert wearing a "Shooters Grill" sweatshirt at the same time a stolen card was used there, per an affidavit.
Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert's 18-year-old son, Tyler Boebert, is accused of making a sex tape with an alleged accomplice after he was arrested for robbery, according to an affidavit.
Tyler Boebert was identified from surveillance footage that showed him in a gas station while wearing a grey sweatshirt featuring the name of his mother's now-closed gun-themed restaurant, "Shooters Grill," according to the affidavit for his arrest filed Tuesday. He was in the gas station at the same time a stolen card was used, per the document.
"Based off my previous encounters, I was able to identify the male with the gray hoodie to be Tyler Boebert," a Rifle, Colorado, police officer wrote in the affidavit.
The congresswoman's son was arrested Tuesday on 22 charges, including five felonies, that were connected to a string of vehicle break-ins and property thefts.
The officer also interviewed a person connected to the break-ins who alleged that Tyler Boebert made a sex tape with an accomplice and distributed it to another person in their age group, per the affidavit.
The names of the alleged accomplices are redacted from the affidavit.
Tyler Boebert and his friends allegedly used the stolen cards in attempts to make purchases at gas stations, McDonald's, Starbucks, and the clothing outlet Shein.
The $717 Shein purchase, $175 purchase at the Kum & Go gas station and $10.95 Starbucks purchase did not go through.
Tyler Boebert, who had a son last year with another teenager, was arrested at his home without any incident.
Lauren Boebert said Wednesday that she loves her son, but he "should be held accountable for poor decisions just like any other citizen," according to The Denver Post.
