Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn discusses the rising, out of control crime in the U.S. and how Americans feel like they're being unheard about not feeling safe.

"The American people are trying to break through with their message to Washington, D.C. that crime is out of control," the Tennessee Senator said on the Wednesday edition of "Just the News, Not Noise." "Communities are not safe. People are worried that they are living in Joe Biden's America where they can't go out for an early morning run."

Blackburn was referencing the recent murder that took place in her home state in which a young school teacher, Eliza Fletcher, was kidnapped and murdered while going for an early morning jog. The man who was charged with murdering and kidnapping Fletcher was a man named Cleotha Henderson. According to a Fox News report, Henderson was linked to another abduction from a year ago.

Henderson had previously been convicted for charges of kidnapping, rape and aggravated assault and was released from prison in 2020 after serving only 20 years of a 24-year prison sentence, Fox reports.

One of Blackburn's solutions to end 'soft-on-crime' policies is her new legislation put forward titled the "Restoring Law and Order Act."

"We're looking at funding more officers," Blackburn explained. "We are looking at a GAO study on these rape kits. We are making certain that there are provisions for dealing with these drug crimes, primarily the drug deaths that result from fentanyl."

Rep. Rodney Davis discussed how the policy of no cash bail emboldens criminals and lets them off the hook.

"No cash bail means that criminals are able to go out and be able to commit their crime and harass and attack the same people that are the reason why they were in jail in the first place," Davis said on the "Just the News, Not Noise," TV show.

"Criminals are going to be coddled," Davis later continued. "Criminals in Illinois are going to have the upper hand. And the sad part is, it's going to lead to Republican victories. Because with the increase of crime in the areas that have been trending democratic, they're going to come back to the Republicans and our message very quickly."
