Video shows Mike Tyson pummeling airplane passenger
At the end, the person taking the video claims the unruly passenger was "just trying to ask for an autograph."
Video footage shows former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson repeatedly punching a fellow airline passenger on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred on a JetBlue flight from San Francisco International Airport to Florida, according to TMZ, which exclusively obtained the footage.
In the video, the passenger is first seen standing behind Tyson, who is in his seat, and making gestures while speaking to him over the chair. The footage shows several other instances of the passenger addressing Tyson before the boxer attacks him. The remainder shows the passenger bloodied and visibly upset over the incident. At the end, the person taking the video claims the unruly passenger was "just trying to ask for an autograph."
"Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat," a Tyson spokesperson told ESPN.
The allegedly throwing of a water bottle does not appear the footage.
Tyson reportedly left the plane immediately following the incident.
The San Francisco Police Department told TMZ that the passenger "provided minimal details of the incident and refused to cooperate further with the police investigation."
