Actress Anne Heche has been hospitalized and is receiving treatment for severe burns after crashing her car into a California home which started a fire.
She first crashed into the garage of a Los Angeles apartment complex but fled the scene in her vehicle, Fox News reported. She then crashed a second time into a private residence in Mar Vista. The impact started a fire, from which she suffered serious burns, and the house was destroyed, according to Fox 11.
Medical officials say they expect the actress to survive. They could not confirm whether she was under the influence at the time of the accident, though authorities discovered a "bottle with a red cap" in the car, per the local Fox affiliate.
Heche is known for her roles in "Volcano" and "Six Days Seven Nights." Later in her career, she voice Suyin Beifong in "The Legend of Kora."
