Disgraced former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner (D) is preparing to host a new radio show with onetime Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa.

"The Left vs. The Right" will be a weekly program on WABC radio on which the two men will argue about politics.

Weiner served as a Democratic congressman for 12 years in the House before resigning in 2011 following revelations about sexually explicit messages he sent to a number of women.

Sliwa is the founder of the Guardian Angels, a group of unarmed volunteers he started in 1979 to help law enforcement curtail crime in New York City. The group grew to reportedly have a presence in 130 cities and 13 countries.

Weiner mounted his comeback in 2013, when he ran for New York mayor, but his campaign imploded when more explicit photos he sent surfaced.

In 2017, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison for exchanging sexually explicit messages with a minor. Some of the lewd images he sent infamously showed his toddler son.

Regarding the new show, Weiner told the New York Post's gossip column Page Six that he is "not going back into public life."

"I am doing a radio show with a friend of mine," he said, adding that he will not shy away from tough questions about his past. "Everybody has tough things. It’s a source of commonality for a lot of people in New York. One of the things that both Curtis and I were clear on, there wasn’t going to be any subject we would avoid for want of embarrassment."

Sliwa, who has been a radio presence for decades, most recently lost the NYC mayoral election to Democrat Eric Adams. He agrees that Weiner's sordid past could serve as a source of relatability to potential listeners.

"I think being on the radio he can become a role model for other people who have had major issues in their life," he said.
