Authorities in New Mexico have issued an arrest warrant for director and Emmy Award–winning actor Timothy Busfield in connection with a child sex abuse allegation, according to court records filed Friday.

An investigator with the Albuquerque Police Department submitted a criminal complaint outlining the charge, which stems from a report by a child who said Busfield touched him inappropriately.

The alleged incidents are said to have taken place on the set of The Cleaning Lady, a television series on which Busfield worked as both a director and actor.

According to the complaint, the child told investigators that the first alleged incident occurred when he was 7 years old, claiming Busfield touched him three or four times. The child reported a second alleged incident when he was 8, during which Busfield is accused of touching him five or six times.

The filing does not provide additional details about the circumstances of the alleged encounters.

Authorities said the warrant was issued to bring Busfield before the court to face the charge.
