Women's National Basketball Association player Caitlin Clark reportedly won’t be on the Team USA roster for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
While the Team USA’s roster has not been announced, sources on Saturday told NBC News that those going to the competition will be veteran basketball players including Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart.
"We have not made any official announcement yet," the spokesperson told the outlet.
It was first reported that Clark would not be in the roster by The Atlantic.
Clark plays for Indiana Fever as a guard and in college she played for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Earlier this year, Clark beat the all-time NCAA basketball points record that was set more than half a century ago by the late Pete Maravich, making her the highest-scoring college basketball athlete of all-time.
This week, she scored 30 points in the Indiana Fever’s 85-83 win against the Washington Mystics. She was named rookie of the month in May.
