Beatles releasing last new song, 'Now And Then,' this week
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison all worked on "Now And Then" during the same sessions.
The last new Beatles song, "Now And Then," is expected to be available on Thursday, 60 years since Beatlemania swept the world, as artificial intelligence was able to recreate the parts of two of the deceased band members.
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison all worked on "Now And Then" during the same sessions, but technological issues posed problems – until now – The Associated Press reported.
The song, promised to be the last "new" Beatles song, is part of the same batch of unreleased John Lennon demos that his former bandmates used to construct the songs "Free As a Bird" and "Real Love" in the mid-1990s.
Using artificial intelligence, director Peter Jackson was able to separate Lennon's vocals from a piano in a recording, allowing McCartney and Starr to finish the song last year.
"There it was, John’s voice, crystal clear," McCartney said in announcing the new song. "It’s quite emotional. And we all play on it, it’s a genuine Beatles recording. In 2023 to still be working on Beatles music, and about to release a new song the public haven’t heard, I think it’s quite an exciting thing."
