At an E Street Band's concert in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, Bruce Springsteen offered a prayer to President Donald Trump following the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. 

"We also send out a prayer of thanks that our president, nor anyone in the administration, nor anyone attending, was injured at last night's incident at the [White House] Press Correspondents' Dinner," Springsteen told the audience, according to a fans' video posted on X. 

The "Dancing in the Dark" singer went on to condemn political violence. 

"We can disagree. We can be critical of those in power, and we can peacefully fight for our beliefs. But there is no place in any way, shape, or form for political violence of any kind in our beloved United States," Springsteen said. 

Springsteen has been a vocal opponent of the president. At a concert in Minneapolis earlier this month, he condemned the Trump administration as "corrupt, incompetent and racist," according to Forbes. The president responded by calling the singer "very boring" and called for a boycott of Springsteen's concerts.
