Camp removes transgender cheerleader for allegedly choking girl who called her 'man with a penis'
"I stood up for myself," the biological male cheerleader said.
A Texas cheerleading camp has reportedly kicked out a transgender camper who received a criminal assault citation for allegedly choking another camper who said she was "man with a penis."
When the incident occurred at Ranger College, in the city of Ranger, remains unclear.
Campus police on Monday declined to say whether the incident occurred and if a report was filed. However, the Ranger police department confirmed to Just The News that the incident occurred and the existence of a police report but referred requests for additional information to the Eastman County District Attorney.
The cheerleader who allegedly assaulted the fellow camper and was told to leave the camp has been identified as Averie Chanel Medlock.
A now-protected or delated post on a Facebook account with that name reads: "Well guys I'm officially retired as a cheerleader as of last night at 5:30 AM. A girl on the team was being very disrespectful and told me I am a MAN with a PENIS and that [guys] should not be on the team."
Fox News reports the post also states: "I stood up for myself."
Another post apparently from Medlock's Facebook account calls Ranger College "so racist."
Medlock, who was born a biological male, also posted a video almost entirely of the ground featuring audio and claiming it is "video evidence that I did not assault her."
Mike Jones, the father of the girl who was allegedly assaulted by Medlock, said his daughter called him to the scene. He is calling for security camera footage of the incident to be released.
"I ask you what you would have done when receiving a phone call at 1 o'clock in the morning from your daughter stating they had locked themselves in the room with other girls," he reportedly wrote on Facebook. "At no time did I ever say anything about your race or your gender."
