The Daily Wire's "Am I Racist?" had a strong showing on its Friday night opening, out-earning a major studio release and appearing in more than 2,500 theaters. The mockumentary was the third-highest-grossing film on Friday.

The Matt Walsh mockumentary, which tackles "anti-racism" and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, outgrossed Lionsgate's "The Killer's Game" and was one of only 15 documentaries to open in over 1,500 theaters, The Daily Wire reported.

The mockumentary received strong positive reviews, including a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and an "A" rating from CinemaScore, which grades movies based on audience response.

Nearly all audience members, 95%, said "Am I Racist?" met or exceeded their expectations. Nearly three-quarters of audience members, 70%, said the film was "excellent," and over half of audience members, 57%, said they would recommend seeing the movie in theaters.

Anti-racist activists featured in the film were less fulsome in their praise. Saira Rao privately called the movie a "Nazi White Supremacy Film."

Robin DiAngelo, who wrote "White Fragility," said she was duped into appearing in the movie.

DiAngelo said that "Am I Racist?" was "designed to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists."

Walsh responded on X that DiAngelo "couldn't be more correct in that assessment."

Other left-wing activists took aim at theaters showing "Am I Racist?" The Daily Wire reported.

"Left wing activists are bullying theaters into dropping our film," Walsh posted on Saturday.

Elon Musk responded, "The far left fascists love censorship" after a theater pulled the movie and issued an apology.
