Transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney broke his silence over the Bud Light sponsorship controversy, claiming in a social media post that "transphobia" has made him fear leaving his house.

Mulvaney, whose claim to fame is attributed to his "365 Days of Girlhood" vlog, became the center of a conservative boycott in April, after he did a brand deal with Anheuser-Busch's Bud Light. Alissa Heinerscheid, the now-former marketing VP at Bud Light, said a day prior to the Mulvaney advertisement going public that she wanted to move the beer brand away from its association with “fratty” humor.

After a few months of avoiding it, Mulvaney finally addressed the massive controversy Thursday in an Insagram post.

"What transpired from the video was more bullying and transphobia than I could have ever imagined," Mulvaney said.

"For months now, I’ve been scared to leave my house" Mulvaney added.

Born in San Diego, California, Dylan Mulvaney reportedly lives a few hours north in Los Angeles, which reportedly has the most LGBT-identifying adults of any state in America.

"I have been ridiculed in public, I’ve been followed, and I have felt a loneliness that I wouldn’t wish on anyone," Mulvaney added.

The transgender celebrity also took shots at Bud Light for ghosting Mulvaney amid the backlash.

"I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me, but they never did,” he said.

The Bud Light boycott results were apparent in the weeks following. After striking a partnership with Mulvaney, the beer company lost billions in market cap value and was dethroned as the best selling beer, according to CBS News.

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth told CBS in an interview this past Wednesday "Bud Light has supported LGBTQ+ since 1998," and will "continue to support the communities and organizations that we’ve supported for decades."
