Earth, Wind & Fire guitarist Sheldon Reynolds dead at 63
Reynolds joined Earth, Wind & Fire in 1987 and remained a member until 2002.
Sheldon Reynolds, the singer, guitarist and songwriter who performed with Sun, the Commodores and Earth, Wind & Fire, died, his former bandmate Philip Bailey said. He was 63.
"This news of Sheldon Reynolds transition is very sad for all of us who knew and worked with him," Bailey, the lead singer of Earth, Wind & Fire, said online early Wednesday morning. "Sheldon was an excellent addition to the band, a great writer and producer, and a genuinely kind and loving person. He will be missed. Our condolences to his family."
Reynolds joined Earth, Wind & Fire in 1987 and remained a member until 2002. During this time, he earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for his song "Sunday Morning."
