'Hair' star Treat Williams dead at 71 after motorcycle collision
Williams was critically injured and airlifted to a hospital in Albany, N.Y., where he was pronounced dead.
Actor Treat Williams, known for starring in the musical movie "Hair" and the TV drama "Everwood," died after his motorcycle was hit by a car Monday in Vermont, state police said. He was 71.
A 2008 Honda Element attempted to turn left into a parking lot in Dorset shortly before 5 p.m. when the vehicle instead turned into the path of Williams, who was riding his motorcycle.
Williams, who was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident, was "unable to avoid a collision and was thrown from his motorcycle," the Vermont State Police said.
Williams was critically injured and airlifted to a hospital in Albany, N.Y., where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Honda SUV sustained minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
Barry McPherson, Williams' agent, said, "I'm just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented," according to People Magazine.
