Jay Leno sustains major burns in garage fire
Leno was in his garage on Sunday when one of his cars reportedly burst into flames.
Former "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno has been hospitalized following a fire in his Los Angeles garage.
The gas fire inflicted serious burns on the television personality, Deadline reported. Leno himself appears poised for a recovery, telling the outlet that "I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet."
Leno was in his garage on Sunday when one of his cars reportedly burst into flames, the outlet noted. His hospitalization will not affect the revived "You Bet Your Life" gameshow, which Leno hosts, as it has finished filming for its second season.
The car fire follows a similarly horrific incident earlier this year during which actress Anne Heche sustained fatal burns following a car crash. Leno, meanwhile, has been much more fortunate.
In addition to the "Tonight Show" and "You Bet Your Life," Leno currently hosts "Jay Leno's Garage" on CNBC and has appeared in a recurring role as Joe Leonard, an auto repairman, on "Last Man Standing."
