Popstar Justin Timberlake is expected to plead guilty this Friday to Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in the Hamptons over the summer, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said Wednesday.

Timberlake performed poorly on field sobriety tests when he was pulled over in the Hamptons on June 18, and had "bloodshot and glossy" eyes, according to documents reported by Fox News. The former NSYNC singer also had a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath," was unsteady, and exhibited "slow speech" at the time of the arrest.

The former boyband member is expected to appear at a court hearing in Sag Harbor on Friday, after a judge reportedly approved a deal between prosecutors and Timberlake that lessened his DWI to a traffic violation and a $300-$500 fine in exchange for the guilty plea, per TMZ.

Even as Timberlake looks to plead guilty, his attorney Ed Burke Jr., told Fox that the police made multiple errors when arresting the megastar.

"The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI," Burke told the outlet. "The police made a number of very significant errors in this case ... Sometimes the police make mistakes, and this is just one of those instances."

The plea comes as the musician continues his tour in the United States. He is scheduled to perform in Newark, New Jersey, on Sept. 28, and will perform in New York City, Houston, Orlando, and Philadelphia before he tours internationally. Some international appearances will include Canada, Denmark, Argentina, and Chile.
