Matthew Perry died from effects of ketamine, coroner determines
He was 54 at the time of his death.
Actor Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler in the hit sitcom "Friends," died due to acute effects from ketamine, the Los Angeles County coroner determined, according to the autopsy report.
Perry died in late October and was found unresponsive in his hot tub. Initial reporting deemed the death an apparent drowning, though the coroner ultimately that was merely a contributing factor in his death.
The coroner listed coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects as further contributing factors though the ketamine was the primary cause, ABC News reported.
He was 54 at the time of his death.
Ketamine has been approved for use as an anesthetic and to treat depression.
