Oscar-nominated actress Diane Ladd, known for her role in Martin Scorsese's 1974 film "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore," died on Monday at the age of 89-years-old, her daughter Laura Dern announced.

Dern said she was with her mother when Ladd died at her home in Ojai, California, according to NBC News.

"She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created," Dern said. "We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now."

Dern did not state her mother's cause-of-death.

Ladd was nominated for an Oscar three times, once for her role in Scorsese's film, and for her roles in David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" and Martha Coolidge's "Rambling Rose." 

She was also nominated for three Emmys for her guest-starring roles on the shows "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," "Grace Under Fire" and "Touched by an Angel."
