Reports: MLB owners to pitch plan to begin season in July
The plan will reportedly be discussed with the players' union on Tuesday
Major League Baseball owners on Monday agreed to pitch a plan to the players union that could result in America's favorite pastime getting underway again around Independence Day weekend.
Spring training would commence in June and the season would start around Independence Day weekend without fans in the stands immediately, the Associated Press reports.
The conversation with the union will occur on Tuesday.
Like many other aspects of American life, the baseball season was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic which has disrupted numerous facets of the nation's economy.
