U.S. Women's National Team coach Vlatko Andonovski resigns: Reports
His tenure began in 2019 and will conclude with a 51-5-9 record.
U.S. Women’s National Team Coach Vlatko Andonovski has resigned in the aftermath of the team's elimination from the 2023 Women's World Cup, multiple outlets have reported, with an official announcement expected on Thursday.
His decision follows the team's loss to Sweden earlier this month, which marked their worst ever performance in the soccer tournament. The team had always previously managed to place at least third in the tournament.
"I think we came out today and showed what we’re all about... Showed the grit, the resilience, the fight, the bravery — they showed everything that we could to win this game," he said on Fox after the game. "Unfortunately, soccer can be cruel sometimes."
His tenure began in 2019 and will conclude with a 51-5-9 record, according to the New York Post.
