Disney's Moana 2 grossed $221 million between Wednesday and Sunday, making it the highest five-day film opening in history, the company announced on Monday.

The film, which is the sequel to 2016's Moana, has grossed $386 million globally to date, according to Disney.

Disney said analysts had predicted the new film would earn about $125 million to $135 million.

The film topped The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which earned $204.6 million in 2023 in its first five days and Frozen 2's $125 million in 2019.
