Almost 44% of Americans say they don't make enough to cover daily expenses: Survey

Almost 44% of Americans say they don't make enough to cover daily expenses in the current economy, a Freedom Economy Index survey has revealed.
The survey, a product of the Red Balloon job site and the Public Square shopping site, was released Thursday and further showed that finding a job has become more difficult.
Sixty-three percent of those polled indicated that it was at least "somewhat more difficult" to find a job in the year 2024.
"The job market is terrible," one individual said according to the Freedom Economy Index survey. "I know of people facing foreclosure because they can't find work, and over a year ago, they were making six figures."
The survey was conducted July 29 through Aug. 2 and polled 100,000 job seekers and employees. In total, the survey attracted 765 respondents and has a 4% margin of error at the 95% confidence level.
“Elections are won or lost on the economy,” said Public Square CEO Michael Seifert in a statement. “Asking the question ‘are you better off than 4 years ago’ is pretty standard in American politics. Based on our results, this doesn’t bode well for the incumbent party.”
