US economy adds 150k jobs in October, lowest increase since January 2021
Unemployment also rose from 3.8% in September to 3.9% last month.
The U.S. economy added 150,000 new jobs in October, the Labor Department reported Friday.
The increase is the lowest since January 2021, and fell below Wall Street predictions, according to Forbes.
The job gains occurred in government, social assistance and healthcare. The report says that due to strikes, employment in manufacturing declined.
The healthcare sector specifically added 77,000 jobs.
Unemployment also rose from 3.8% in September to 3.9% in October.
