US economy added 130,000 jobs in January, exceeding Wall Street expectations

The Dow Jones consensus estimate was that 55,000 jobs would be added.

The Labor Department on Wednesday reported the U.S. economy added 130,000 jobs in January, exceeding Wall Street expectations. 

The department's Bureau of Labor Statistics also reported the annualized unemployment rate last month was 4.3%, down slightly from 4.4.
