The U.S. economy in May added 139,000 jobs while the unemployment rate remained at 4.2%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced Friday.
The job gains exceeded forecasts of about 120,000 but were less than the revised 147,000 jobs added in April, according to ABC News.
The unemployment rate remains near historic lows, ABC also reports.
