U.S. economy added 428,000 jobs in April, exceeding expectations, jobless rate unchanged at 3.6%

The Labor Department said Friday the U.S. economy added 428,000 jobs in April, slightly exceeding Wall Street expectations.

Forecasters expected that roughly 400,000 jobs would be added, according to CNBC. 

The monthly unemployment rate remained at 3.6%, the department also reported.
