"The FBI has opened more than 100 investigations coming out of those reports," she said.
The FBI opened more than 100 investigations based on reports of threats or violence since the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel, according to Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.
"We have seen a significant uptick in threats of violence and violence, particularly directed at the Jewish community and also at the Muslim and Arab American communities here in the United States," Monaco said Sunday on ABC News' "This Week."
Officials are concerned that individuals and small groups would be inspired by Oct. 7 and commit acts of terror in the United States, according to Monaco.
"Since October 7th, the FBI has received more than 1,800 reports of threats or other types of tips or leads that are somehow related to or have a nexus to the current conflict in Israel and Gaza," she said.
While many of the tips are resolved without any problems, others develop into investigations.
