Sen. Ted Cruz says Elon Musk's purchase of X is one of the most crucial victories for free speech
A constitutional scholar and formerly the Solicitor General of Texas, Senator Cruz said Elon Musk's buying Twitter is the "single most important step for free speech in decades."
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Thursday that Elon Musk purchasing the social media platform X, formerly called Twitter, was a major victory for free speech.
The GOP lawmaker explained on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show that one of the best ways to take back institutions that are run by left-leaning individuals is for conservatives and libertarians to invest in major platforms of ideas.
"The example I use on this is Elon Musk's buying Twitter, which I think is the single most important step for free speech in decades," Cruz said.
Cruz recently published a book titled "Unwoke: How to Defeat Cultural Marxism in America." The book goes into detail about steps conservatives take to win back America from leftist ideologies.
"This book explains how and why the radical left took over just about every major institution in America, and each chapter of the book addresses a different institution," he said.
Cruz's website maintains a "whistleblower" page designed for citizens to "report waste, fraud, abuse, or other misconduct" government agencies. In the interview, he emphasized the importance of conservatives taking back institutions such as schools, the government and entertainment.
"I think if we don't recapture these institutions, we're going to lose our nation," he added.
