Massachusetts baby company recalls 14,000 strollers after child's fingertip reportedly severed
Risk of "amputation or laceration" for children not in stroller.
A Massachusetts company has issued a recall of over 14,000 strollers due to reported risks that a component of the device can pose an amputation risk to children's fingers.
UPPAbaby issued the recall for its line of $600 "RIDGE" jogging strollers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a release this week.
The CPSC referred to "one reported incident, resulting in a fingertip amputation to a child who was not in the stroller while in use."
The company did not refer to that alleged incident in a Facebook post announcing the recall, though it noted that the callback covers "all RIDGE jogging strollers manufactured between July 2021 through August 2022."
