Former Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday he has started a new political advocacy group, his most recent move to remain involved in the conservative movement.

Pence created Advancing American Freedom, which he said aims to defend conservative values and oppose President Biden's political agenda.

"Advancing American Freedom plans to build on the success of the last four years by promoting traditional conservative values and promoting the successful policies of the Trump administration," Pence said in a statement. "Conservatives will not stand idly by as the radical Left and the new administration attempt to threaten America’s standing as the greatest Nation in the world with their destructive policies."

The nonprofit advocacy group will have several Trump administration officials and conservative movement leaders as advisers including Kellyanne Conway, Larry Kudlow, Russ Vought, Seema Verma, Andrew Wheeler, Robert Lighthizer and David Bernhardt.

The group plans on advocating for policies focused on the economy, foreign affairs and "American liberties" such as school choice and opposing abortion, The Hill reported.

The launch of the group is Pence's most recent action to remain in conservative politics. He has joined the Heritage Foundation as a distinguished visiting fellow and he has joined Young America's Foundation as a scholar.

The former House member and Indiana governor is also considered to top contender should he see the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Pence is set to speak in early-voting state South Carolina later this month, marking his first speech since leaving office in January.
