One of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks can count on a vote from Wisconsin’s Democratic U.S. Senator.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin said she plans to vote for Sean Duffy for transportation secretary.

The two met this week, and Baldwin said she will support him for the new job.

“I look at all of the president’s nominees through the lens of ‘will you be good for Wisconsin,’” Baldwin said on social media. “I plan to support Sean's nomination to lead the Dept. of Transportation because I'm confident that we can work together to keep Wisconsin families safe & our economy moving forward.”

Duffy served five terms as the Northwoods congressman before stepping away in 2020.

He and Baldwin have worked together before.

Baldwin said she has big expectations for Dufffy as the country’s transportation boss.

“I am thinking about the big infrastructure projects in the pipeline to make sure families can get to school and work safely, our water is clean to drink and swim in, and our businesses can get their goods on shelves – and it will be critical to have a secretary of transportation who understands the need to see these projects through. Whoever is leading the Department of Transportation will also play a key role in building on our great bipartisan work to ensure that we use American companies, materials, and workers when we rebuild our infrastructure,” Baldwin said. “I’ve worked with Sean before to deliver for Wisconsin, and I plan to support his nomination because I am confident that we can work together to keep Wisconsin families safe and our economy moving forward.”

Baldwin is not saying if she plans to support any of Trump’s other cabinet choices. She has said in the past that she opposes some of Trump’s plans for a second term.

Duffy has been making the rounds on Capitol Hill in preparation for his Senate confirmation.

He took to Twitter to also say he had a good meeting with Baldwin.

“Thank you so much to@SenatorBaldwin for meeting with me today. I’m honored to have your support and looking forward to working with you to rebuild infrastructure across our beautiful state of Wisconsin and all around America.#GoPackGo!,” Duffy wrote.
