GOP state lawmaker pushes legislation to name Nashville International Airport after Trump
The bill would take effect on Jan. 1, 2026 if passed.
Tennessee Republican state lawmaker Rep. Todd Warner has introduced legislation that would name the Nashville International Airport after President-elect Donald Trump.
House Bill 217, introduced last week, would mandate that the airport change its trademarks and revise legal documents to reflect the new name.
The bill, introduced last week, would take effect on Jan. 1, 2026 if passed, according to Fox News.
Lawmakers in other states have also pushed for an airport to be named after Trump.
House Republicans last year requested that Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia be named after him.
"In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump," Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., who introduced the bill, told Fox News.
