National Memorial Day Parade draws large crowd after 2-year hiatus

The parade is taking place in Washington D.C.

The National Memorial Day Parade is back in Washington D.C. after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic. 

The grand martial is retired U.S. Army Air Corps/U.S. Air Force officer James Harvey III, 98, who is a former African-American fighter pilot. 

Organizers expect thousands to gather along the parade route.
