The wildfires raging across New Mexico have left one dead and roughly 1,400 structures destroyed, according to officials.

On Monday, the South Fork Fire broke out and by Tuesday had burned 15,276 acres of the Mescalero Apache Reservation, according to NBC News.
The Salt Fire has burned roughly 5,557 acres. As of Tuesday, both fires were 0% contained, according to officials. The cause of the fires is still unknown and is under investigation.
The Forestry Division reported multiple homes had also been lost.
"This morning, I declared a State of Emergency in Lincoln County and the Mescalero Apache Reservation, authorizing additional funding and resources to manage this crisis," New Mexico Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham wrote on the social media platform, X.
