Brazil Supreme Court threatens to shut down social media platform X

A Brazil Supreme Court judge threatened on Wednesday to shut down the social media platform X in the country if founder Elon Musk doesn't designate a legal representative for the company within 24 hours.

The 24-hour period under Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes' summons would conclude about 8pm on Thursday.

Earlier this month, Musk said the social media platform X said it would cease its operations in Brazil "effective immediately," citing the judge's "censorship orders."
