Rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West proposes to buy Parler according to recent reports
Rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West who goes by Ye, plans to purchase the social media app Parler.
Ye and Parler made an announcement Monday that the deal should be finalized by the end of the year, according to Fox Business.
"This deal will change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech," Parler CEO George Farmer said in a statement. "Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech, media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again."
Ye said in his own statement that he would fight for free speech, including opinions that are deemed controversial.
"In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves," he said.
Ye most recently was banned from social media sites for comments widely consider to be anti-Semitic, and JPMorgan Chase dropped his fashion brand, Fox reports.
A now-deleted tweet that Ye got backlash for said that he would go "death con 3" on Jewish people.
"I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE," Ye's deleted tweet stated. "The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda."
