Alan Dershowitz calls for 'ceasefire' on using criminal justice system for political purposes
"Let's stop using the criminal justice system as a weapon for political purposes," Dershowitz said.
Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz on Tuesday called for a "ceasefire" and for people to stop using the criminal justice system as a weapon for political purposes.
"What I'm calling for today is a ceasefire," Dershowitz said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "Look, we now have a tie. We have Trump prosecuted and convicted. We have Biden prosecuted and convicted. We have Trump impeached. We have Mayorkas impeached."
First son Hunter Biden was found guilty of all three charges in connection with the purchase of a gun in 2018.
He was on trial for having stated on the gun purchase application that he did not use drugs, while allegedly having been addicted to crack cocaine.
Last month, a New York jury found former President Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records during his 2016 presidential bid to conceal a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet an alleged sexual encounter with her.
"Let's stop using the criminal justice system as a weapon for political purposes," Dershowitz said.
He predicted that Hunter Biden would likely receive a suspended sentence or probation, as would Trump.
