Canada Prime Minister Trudeau meets with Trump at Mar-a-Lago
The former president on Tuesday pledged to impose a 25% tariff on imported goods from Mexico and Canada, and a 10% tariff on imported goods from China over illegal immigration and fentanyl.
Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is meet Friday night with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, amid Trump threatened Canada with a sharp tariff.
The former president previously pledged to impose a 25% tariff on imported goods from Mexico and Canada, and a 10% tariff on imported goods from China over illegal immigration and fentanyl. He also vowed to impose the tariffs on his first day in office this January.
Trudeau is expected to discuss border security with the incoming president along with Canada's Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc who is in charge of border security.
“Ultimately, it is through lots of constructive, real conversations with President Trump that I’m going to have that will keep us moving forward on the right track for all Canadians,” Trudeau said during an unrelated press conference on Friday, according to Politico.
