Elon Musk endorses Trump, wishes him a speedy recovery
Musk offered his endorsement and well-wishes less than an hour after the attempt on Trump's life.
Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Saturday endorsed former President Donald Trump for the presidency. Musk made his announcement in a tweet featuring Trump urging rally attendees to "fight" in the aftermath of the attempt on his life.
A wish for Trump's "rapid recovery" accompanied the endorsement, which Musk made less than an hour after the assassination attempt.
Trump was shot at 6:11 p.m. Musk's endorsement came at 6:45 p.m., The Daily Signal reported.
Musk posted a follow-up tweet praising Trump as "tough."
Later that evening, Musk tweeted a call for the Secret Service head and Trump's detail leader to resign.
Musk then doubled down and accused the Secret Service leadership of incompetence or malice.
