Former Trump Org. CFO Weisselberg released from Rikers Island, after pleading guilty to tax scheme
Weisselberg, 75, was sentenced in January to five months in jail.
Former Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg was released Wednesday from New York City's Rikers Island jail, according to NYC Department of Correction records.
Weisselberg, 75, was sentenced in January to five months in jail after he pleaded guilty in connection to a long-running tax fraud scheme at the Trump Organization.
He was eligible for early release on good behavior after 100 days.
Weisselberg also agreed to pay nearly $2 million in taxes and penalties and to complete five years of probation. As part of his plea deal, he testified at the Trump Organization trial. He testified that his former boss, former President Donald Trump, signed checks and other documents in the case but he was not aware of the scheme. Trump was not charged in connection to the case.
The Trump Organization was found guilty and fined the maximum amount of $1.6 million.
