Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that the war in Iran will continue because an agreement with Tehran over the country's nuclear program hasn't been reached.

He made the remarks on CBS's "60 Minutes," saying that there's still enriched uranium in the country that has to be taken out, there are enrichment sites that need to be dismantled, in addition to other threats Iran poses.

President Donald Trump on Sunday said that he had read Iran's response to the latest peace proposal, which he found "totally unacceptable."

In a post on X Sunday, Barack Ravid, global affairs correspondent for Axios, said that Trump told him that he'd spoken to Netanyahu about Iran's response to the peace proposal.

"It was a very nice conversation. We have a good relationship, but this is my business, not anyone else's," Trump told Ravid.

Trump has been firm on the position that Iran must surrender its nuclear program before an agreement to end the war can be reached.
