'Shark Tank' host Kevin O’Leary criticizes attempts to take away Trump’s assets

“Shark Tank” host Kevin O’Leary criticized New York's Democratic Attorney General Letitia James for attempting to seize former President Donald Trump's assets as a result of his civil fraud case.
“Property rights are mentioned 37 times in the Constitution," O'Leary said during an interview with Laura Ingraham, according to The Hill. "Due process — very important. Why steal someone’s assets in 27 days? Why not give them more time to come up with the cash — forget about Donald Trump — who would want this to happen to them?”
James' office filed judgments in Westchester County, which indicates that the state is getting ready to try to seize Seven Springs, Trump's golf course and private estate, CNN reported earlier this week.
The filing is the first step a creditor takes to try to recover property. The next steps could be putting liens on assets or trying to force a foreclosure, among other things.
James alleged that Trump manipulated the value of his assets to secure favorable loan terms and lower insurance premiums
Trump was ordered by a judge to pay a $454 million civil fraud penalty. He attempted to put a pause on the payment, but Judge Arthur Engoron rejected it.
